US Congressman Steve Chabot |
During his visit, Chabot will meet Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, senior government officials, political party leaders, media representatives and civil society leaders to discuss a range of issues including Nepal's peace process, the US embassy in Kathmandu said.
Congressman Chabot currently serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. In 2011, he was named Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia.
The US Congressman's Nepal visit follows the visit top Nepali delegation led by Prime Minister Bhattarai to New York to attend the 66th UN General Assembly. PM Bhattarai had held a brief meeting with US President Barack Obama in New York.
