UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday said he was confident that the parties will forge consensus on the disputed issues seen on constitution drafting and peace process before Dashain festival which starts from next week.
Claiming that discussions with political parties including opposition Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) regarding the matter have been “very positive”, he said that the parties are now close to arriving at an agreement on crucial matters that will help in completing the twin task of constitution drafting and peace processes.
Dahal, who was speaking at a programme in the capital this afternoon, said that if there is agreement on the number of Maoist combatants to be integrated into the state security agencies including the modality of integration and the rehabilitation package before Dashain then it will send a very positive message to the people and go a long way in ensuring lasting peace.
