BAGLUNG, : All six people have died on board the Nepal Army (RAN 49 BN2T ) plane that crashed onto the Chaudhulko Dhuri hillock at Bowang-9, Baglung Tuesday evening.
Of them, the body parts of four deceased along with the wreckage of the plane were founded scattered all over the crash site, police said who reached the site at around at 1 Tuesday night.
The army´s Britten-Norman Islander aircraft, which was carrying a patient to Kathmandu and had six people aboard, lost its way shortly after it took off from Nepalgunj Airport at 6.35 pm and crashed on the hillock at around 7: 15 pm.
Bikash Singh Rathaur and Diwakar Karki, both of whom are Nepal Army majors, Dr Rabita Pathak, second lieutenant, and soldiers Ram Gotame and Keshab Aidi and Keshab’s brother Ram were on board the plane.
Doctors had referred Keshab Aidi, who was suffering from meningitis, to Kathmandu after his health did not improve while going treatment in Nepalgunj.
According to officials at Nepalgunj Airport, the plane had seemingly taken off abnormally. It had last made contact with the air traffic control at 7:05 pm.
The crash site is 137 km from Baglung district headquarters, and is nearly four-hour walk from the nearest police post at Dhorpatan.
